Paper products are more popular and sold for their variety.

No other category received as much publicity as the paper products category, or perhaps saw more sales, in the early stages of the pandemic.
Nervous consumers worried about running out of common items such as toilet paper, paper towels, paper towels and napkins rushed to buy them, sending product sales at retailers soaring. Meanwhile, the rush to stock up on groceries has left retail store shelves nearly empty, causing anxiety and tension among retailers and consumers and prompting jokes on late-night television talk shows.
The good news is that the situation has stabilized over the past six months as production ramps up to meet consumer demand. The good news for the private label industry is that sales are rising as retailers seek new sources of paper products and suppliers rush to launch a variety of products to meet consumer demand.
The end result, many in the private label industry hope, is that when the crisis passes, retailers and consumers will continue to put new products on store shelves. Will they? “I think it will,” said a customer at an East Coast supermarket chain. “I think consumers are seeing that a lot of these brand and private label paper products are the same quality as the national brands they use and that they’re cheaper, I think that’s one good thing that’s come from this terrible pandemic. it will attract a lot of buyers.”
